💛: does my muse believe in love-at-first-sight? in soulmates? in fate?

Messenger doesn’t believe in love at first sight, and her belief in soulmates is a “multiple possible soulmates” sorta thing. She HOPES though. Like it would be REALLY NICE but doubtful.

She really doesn’t want to believe in fate, but does believe in God and “super strong coincidences that maybe some higher power had a hand in who fucking knows.” Hates the idea of predestination type fate though, with a passion. Will fistfight the concept in a denny’s parking lot if given the chance.

29. What did your character dream of being or doing as a child? Did that dream come true?

Messenger was surprisingly really into Disney Princesses when she was a child. Snow white was her first love, and later she saw herself even more reflected in Cinderella. Messenger wanted to be a Veterinarian Princess with a plane. She would have her handsome prince and family that adored her along with her farm, her veterinary practice, and a small plane to fly around in.

As an older child she “realized” (was convinced) that she was too ugly to be a princess and after some run ins found that she couldn’t handle having to put animals down or see them in so much pain. She held on to the farm and the plane though, and thanks to a good teacher her dream switched to “author.”

The farm is a WIP, but she did manage to become a serialized author (not in a way she would have expected) and ironically has managed to nurse some animals back to health, just not as a real vet.

send me a heart to learn something about my muse!

If Jesus can walk on water, can he swim on land?

“Oh. Oh man that’s a good question. But here’s a better question, if we consider crabs walking on the ocean floor as swimming, does that mean we all swim on land? And would swimming on land mean hovering? If so how do we differentiate that from flying? Is flying the equivalent of swimming on land? If so, Jesus can swim on land because I’m pretty sure he floated on a cloud at one point, or that coulda been just the illustration in the junior battle. Now, if you mean swimming through dirt or sand, that’s technically A. in land not on it and B. crabs do that. If we were to call burrowing swimming,it follows that Jesus is a hermit crab.”

She gasped and held the furby to herself protectively “Will that hurt it? It’s from the future maybe it has nerve endings we gotta put it under first.”

It countinued to babble in furbish.

Dell straightened his back and tilted his head “that’s a fair point” he said slowly “but I don’t think living things have to be turned on in order to work.” He reached out and took the furby in his hands as it babbled on and put it against his ear to listen, trying to hear if there was anything mechanical or a heart beat or something.

“It’s the future Dell! I don’t know maybe this is the form of sentient life!”

It sounded like the buzz of electrical things. No heartbeat.

“And we gotta turn on every morning and after naps otherwise our brains die. So. There? I dunno I just think we should take the batteries out first I’d feel bad if it was moving while you skinned it. And probably get some sort of karmic punishment.”

She grinned to hide her actual fear of that happening. Honestly her intrusive thoughts were having a hayday but she pushed them down for later. Probably for when she would be trying to get to sleep. They were doing the critter a service everything was fine.

She grinned big and fiddled with the thing’s ears as it replied, “You. Are evil. And so, so right. So very right. Ooh what if it had a knife too somehow I don’t know how that would work maybe just gun. Mini mini sentry sentry. You’re a genius.”

The furby purred contentedly.

He shook his head “no no, knives are kind of boring” he said softly “what this little fella needs is a small, and powerful gun. Something that can really pack a punch, catch them by surprise you know?”

He poked at it, listing to the furby giggle. “Should probably get this fur off of the thing before I start working.”

She gasped and held the furby to herself protectively “Will that hurt it? It’s from the future maybe it has nerve endings we gotta put it under first.”

It countinued to babble in furbish.

“Honestly me neither, but sometimes it just happens to Handy. They accidentally bring back a lot of weird anachronistic stuff when time and space unravel a bit. It be like that sometimes.”

She turns her head nearly upside down to look at the critter’s face as he begins working with it, poking its beak.

“I think it’s charming in a horrible, monstery way. I’m hoping we can convince it to be on our side and- wait. Dell. This is robotic. Do you think. You could. Fit a very, very little gun in it?”

His eyes intently lit up, and he pulled the furby close “we could” he said “no no. We should!” A large grin, almost scary spread across his face. The gears were turning as he thought about how to do it. He was so busy thinking, he didn’t even realize the thing has turned on.

It spoke in mostly gibberish (or Furbish as it’s actually called). Dells placed it upright on the table and looked it over “could help when spys sap sentries. Something to frighten them. Like an extra alarm system.”

She grinned big and fiddled with the thing’s ears as it replied, “You. Are evil. And so, so right. So very right. Ooh what if it had a knife too somehow I don’t know how that would work maybe just gun. Mini mini sentry sentry. You’re a genius.”

reblogged your post “&*& (mess)”

He made a face as he turned the fuzzy thing upside down “I don’t blame you” Dell said softly. He looked at the furby, it looked creepy. And like something that would probably be possessed.

“I’m not so sure we should be messing with stuff from the future, butterfly effect and all” he explained. Still, he was in the process of opening the hatch on the bottom as he spoke, his damn curiosity always had gotten the better of him.

“At least if this thing tryst to kill us, we can drop kick it” he joked.
