aka, things i’ve always wanted to ask people / have people ask me.
please remember to repost rather than reblog!  Getting put under the cut as to not clog dashboards.

what types of genres do you gravitate towards?

  • Well jeepers I’m a fan of balancing comedy and serious shit, and also a fuckin sucker for romantic shtuff. Found family? HOO YEAH THAT’S THE SHIT. I also enjoy a good spicy thread as long as it’s balanced with humor and actual character work.
  • Action/adventure? Sign me the funck up. Add in magic or fantasy? Sure why in the not? Monstrous characters that can be sweeties also? Check mate, mate. Also just monsters can be fun.
  • Tragecomedy is neat. I like to mix my genres like a child at soda fountain.

what types of genres do you gravitate away from?

  • Angst for angst’s sake. Like I said above, I really am more of a “mix and balance” type writer, and often overly angsty threads die fast or at least get… very tiresome. Doesn’t mean I won’t accept an angst based starter or send one, but it might turn a little silly as well since I’m rping in the tf2niverse. in order to keep things gloomy it takes a lot of negating character progression (since people tend to remain sad for a while in real life) and I’m trained to “yes and.” Also it brings back cringey memories from olden days.
  • Smut without chemistry or character development. Rushed romance lands here too.

What type of characters do you play often?

  •     Oh boy uh. Mmmm…. sarcastic. Characters. Women who are very terrifying and dangerous but also goofy and awkward? Also men who are terrifying and dangerous but also goofy and awkward. And nonbinary characters who are terrifying and dangerous but also goofy and awkward. Characters heavily inspired by the Golden Girls and Hawkeye Pierce. Uh, and self inserts. It’s actually really interesting to try and look at what you, as a character, would do via stepping back and looking at your basic traits and experiences etc.

What kind of characters do you tend not to play?

  • Flat characters. I’ve tried with dnd npcs. They always complicate and become gremlins with actual purpose.

Any pairing tropes you particularly enjoy?

  • Both parties being awkward idiots and not seeing the very obvious signals that the other person likes them. Partly because it makes observer characters just so done.
  • Enemy to lover occasionally as long as it’s not..weird.
  • Being insufferable together in terms of puns and chaotic antics
  • Cuddling, lots of physical affection.
  • Buddy cop type romance
  • Being trapped in a space somehow together and shenanigans.

Platonic tropes?

  • Lotta physical affection and being like… cats in a pile.
  • You know? A good good cat pile.
  • Getting up to antics like stealing a mannequin from a store going out of business.
  • Just being super close
  • FOUND FAMILY (especially found dad/child dynamics)
  • Being ready to throw down for each other.
  • Throwing down for each other.
  • Being honest with each other, even if the other person doesn’t want to hear it as long as it’s for their sake.

Antagonist tropes?

  • Ahahah hahahah…
  • Sorry you just ever uh, make a character so awful, vile, and reprehensible that even you cringe when thinking about them? I did. It’s an NPC for one of my blogs, but he has influenced the lives of all my main Tf2 muses.
  • Frenemies is fun
  • Antagonists that are equally in the right as the protagonist but with different methods
  • True redemption arcs like Zuko.
  • Also Vegeta type redemption arcs. Those amuse me.
  • Be mean to Messenger I wanna know how she works.

Prefered thread type?

  • Paragraphs. I ramble occasionally but tend to match length though I never expect my partner to do the same. Not one liners though, just can’t do it in the tumblr format. I don’t regularly use icons (mainly because I OC a lot) but I hope to do that some more with my Spy blog.

Favorite types of Interactions?

  • Ones where the muses agree to give both muns the middle finger and just randomly go completely off the rails? Like so in character that they get away from us.
  • Hurt/comfort
  • Stuff with MEAT and multiple facets/layers

Wishlist.

For @Oldboyjensenrps

  • Even more interaction with canon characters for Messenger
  • To eventually actually get “The Jack” interacting on the blog
  • Familial threads
  • AUs
  • Specifically working with Messenger’s 10th class Verse-Mercsenger (under [merc au] tag)
  • More frands/more stupid, questionably-legal antics
  • Fight the messenger
  • adopt the messenger
  • seduce the messenger-sucker for well done romance and/or smut threads

For @dastardlydapperbastard

  • Interaction with other mercs
  • franship with other mercs
  • fights with other mercs
  • All the above with ocs too
  • Good luck romancing him but that would be interesting to see if anyone succeeds
  • accidentally adopting but he’ll never admit it ocs
  • awkward scout threads if anyone needs a spy
  • buddy cop type Scout threads
  • Interacting with Scouts that aren’t his Scout and accidentally (but again he’ll deny it) adopting them
  • Crack him open and feast upon his emotions somehow
  • Open the can of worms that is Jolene. (see bio)
  • let me be the grumpy old stab man

tagging: I think everyone I interact with is spoken for on this one, so if you’re reading this and haven’t done it you, I tag you pikachu.

She smiled at him fondly.

“And you, Mr. Conagher. Thank you for rescuing my idiot from her ‘employee review’. Now, I’m afraid I need to be antisocial to get work done, but help yourself to anything from the refrigerator labeled “food.” Unless you are a ghoul, in which case the one labeled “not food” would be fine as well,” she chuckled like a nerd.

“Mr. Conagher is my father” he said simply “and thank you too, for helping her.”

He let out a small laugh at the joke “I’d like to see myself as more of a hobbit than anything” he joked “all I need is the hairy feet.” He grinned at her before walking over to the refrigerator and grabbing one of the things labeled food “thanks” he said, holding it up.

“Dell, then. You are very welcome.”

She returned to her desk and smiled, nodding at him holding it, “hobbits are a good people, so you would fit in just fine. You’re welcome again.”

After everything was cleaned up and sterilized, the woman pulled a chair over next to Messenger’s bed for Dell before taking a seat at her own desk. She set about examining slides with a microscope, but paused for a moment.

“Oh I’m sorry, I almost forgot!” She stood and walked over to offer Dell her hand, “My name is Dr. Violet Jameson, but lately people simply call me The Physician.”

Dell shook her hand and smiled “Dell Cohanger” he introduced himself “but most people just call me The Engineer. Or Engi for short.” He smiled at her “it’s nice to meet you Violet.”

She smiled at him fondly.

“Mmm… yes respawn has its benefits. I still want to check in on possible long term effects there…though tracking down who I need is…difficult.”

She drained some fluid and began work patching her patient back up, her left ring finger now working as a syringe with a grey sort of pasty liquid that seemed to help seal the incisions.

“No shifting…muscle reacting positively… good. Ah, no it is not a problem. Her right shoulder was punctured by a bore-ing projectile and then yanked very hard. The blade was… well shattered is one way to put it. I had to replace, bulk and brace quite a bit of bone, among other things. This checkup was to make sure that no plating had shifted and that the implanted muscle was taking on well without inflammation. Everything looks good, thankfully.”

She finished closing Messenger up and carefully transferred her from the table to a hospital bed.

“Well I haven’t noticed any side effects from it” he told her “then again, been doing it for year.” Dell shrugged slightly as he spoke “however” his clapped his hands together almost with excitement “the medic and I did find out the my teleporters not only cause tumors to grow on bread, but can also turn it into a fierce monster. Does nothing to humans.”

Dell was relieved to hear that she was okay. “I’m glad to hear that” he said smiling. He watched as she was sewn up. There was a lot he didn’t know about her, and so much he wanted to learn. Both of them. He wanted to learn more, and spend time with them when he could. Although, his medic would probably be upset, knowing he’s spending time with another.

Dell would be able to clearly see the sheen of metal plating under layers of tissue and muscle while he watched the woman work. She grumbled at his comment, eyebrows knitting in a frown.Dell would be able to clearly see the sheen of metal plating under layers of tissue and muscle while he watched the woman work. “Oh, no believe me you did well and as much as you could have given the situation. Which I have to say is one of the stupidest, most convoluted and exasperating ones I’ve ever witnessed. These idiot children need to stop playing hero and use their brains for once before reacting.”

“I’m sorry, I’m not actually bitter, just tired and frustrated. Because I know this is going to be the start of a new trend.”

“Where you;re in my line of work, this sort of stuff is… common. But that’s with the other Mrchs, who can respaw” he said “most of us don’t think twice. Witch can be really dangerous for those who can’t.”

His eyes fell onto the metal, and his eyebrows furrowed slightly “what is that there for” he asked, looking to the other woman “if it’s something you can tell me. Patient doctor confidentiality and all.”

She gasps in delight at his prosthetic, “Incredible workmanship! Full nerve responsivity and articulated joints… yes we definitely need to swap notes over coffee sometime.”

After they finished preparing Messenger, the woman got to work with her mask pulled back up over her mouth. Considering the speed, accuracy and efficiency with which her hands moved, no one would have been able to guess that anything was weird about them.

“You are a very kind friend. I’m sure she will be very happy to see you when she wakes up. And remember, this really isn’t your fault.”

He smiled “oh definitely” Dell said nodding “I’m always happy to share what I know. And learn what others know.” Dell pulled the glove back over his hand and watched as she worked. He admired her work, watching carefully as she did trying to learn while he did. It was always something he enjoyed.

“I know” he muttered “I just can’t help but feel like I could have done something, something more. I can’t help it.” It helped hearing it from someone else.
